Who we help

Teens in the Foster Care System

  • There are over 391,000 children and youth in foster care in the US.
  • 1 in 4 foster youth will end up homeless the day they age out of foster care. (US Dept of Health & Human Services)

Teens with Disabilities

  • We are inclusive, and we make accommodations for teens with disabilities to join us on our outings.
  • The American Community Survey: more than 1.3 million U.S. young people ages 16 to 20 have a disability (US Dept Health & Human Services)

Teens from Low-Income Communities

  • According to a report from the National Center for Children in Poverty, nearly half of all children in the U.S. live in low-income families, and more than one in five live in poverty.
  • According to US Census Bureau, the child poverty rate in America is 16% nationwide as of 2020. This amounts to 11.6 million children living in poverty in the United States.
  • Physical, emotional and social changes, including exposure to poverty, abuse, or violence, can make adolescents vulnerable to mental health problems.
